Engineered water and pumping systems

Complete systems designed around how you use water: assessed, specified, installed and commissioned as one job.

Design and delivery

One team for the whole system

When the problem is bigger than one pump, the answer is a system: source, pump, controls, pipework and storage working together. We design it from your operating requirements, then supply, install and commission it.

Select a numbered part in the diagram to see what each piece does and what we check.

  1. 1
    Suction valve and strainer

An isolation valve lets the pump be serviced without draining the system. A strainer keeps debris out of the pump.

  2. 2
    Pump

The casing and impeller are chosen for the flow and head the system needs. Seals and wear parts are the main service items.

  3. 3
    Motor

Sized for the power the pump needs across its working range, with the right protection and cooling for the site.

  4. 4
    Controls and drive

A starter, soft starter or variable speed drive, with protection against dry running, overload and phase faults.

  5. 5
    Discharge valve and gauge

A non-return valve stops back-flow. Isolation, a pressure gauge or transmitter and surge protection are added where the system needs them.

  6. 6
    Tank or network

The storage or pipework the pump serves. Level or pressure signals feed back to the controls.

How it runs

From assessment to handover

  1. 01

    Assess

We measure the site, the source and the demand.

  2. 02

    Design

We size equipment and pipework and agree the specification.

  3. 03

    Install and commission

We build it, test it and set the controls.

  4. 04

    Hand over and support

We train your team and agree the maintenance plan.

Good design includes

What we build into every system

  • Equipment sized for the duty, not for a catalogue
  • Protection against dry running, overload and surges
  • Isolation valves so parts can be serviced without a shutdown
  • Standby pumps where downtime is costly
  • Clear documentation and a maintenance plan
  • A named contact for the project

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who is responsible for the whole job?

For engineered systems we aim to give you one accountable contact at Pumpro from assessment to handover.

Can you work with my contractor or consultant?

Yes. We supply specified pumping packages and technical support to contractors, developers and consultants as well as direct to site owners.

How long does a system take?

It depends on size and site. We give a programme with the quote so you know the timing before you commit.
